SPANIARD ALEXANDRA JIMÉNEZ AND ARGENTINIAN PABLO ECHARRI CONFIRMED TO LEAD THE CAST OF TO CATCH A THIEF TV SERIES

THE COPRODUCTION BETWEEN VIMN SOUTHERN AND WESTERN EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA AND VIACOM INTERNATIONAL STUDIOS IN LATIN AMERICA TO START FILMING IN ARGENTINA AND SPAIN IN FEBRUARY 2019

January 28th, 2019 – Milan and Miami: Viacom International Media Networks Southern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa and Viacom International Studios Latin America announced today that Pablo Echarri and Alexandra Jiménez will headline the cast of their first original coproduction, Atrapa a un Ladrón (To Catch A Thief), a Spanish-language TV series remake of the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie.

Pablo Echarri, one of the most popular and prestigious film and TV actors from Argentina and award-winning star of movies like El Método (The Method) and Plata Quemada (Burnt Money), will play protagonist Juan Garay, alias “The Cat.”  Alexandra Jiménez, one of the most established actresses in Spain, whose 20-year career across TV and cinema includes appearances in blockbusters like Spanish Movie, Anacleto, Kiki, Love To Love and Super López which recently premiered in Spain, will fill the shoes of Lola Garay, police inspector and wife of the ex-burglar Juan.

The 10-episode series, based on the iconic movie from Alfred Hitchcock, was created by Javier Olivares, one of Spain’s best-known TV showrunners. Olivares is behind the success of several Spanish productions that have become hits both locally and internationally, like Isabel and El Ministerio del Tiempo (The Department of Time), a cult sci-fi series produced for RTVE.

As in the original film, To Catch A Thief will follow reformed burglar “The Cat” in his struggle to unveil a mysterious impersonator who is stealing in his name. Besides robberies and mysteries to solve, the blossoming love story between the two protagonists will add even more spice to the action.
