MTV Super Shore Heads to Italy

MTV announced the return of MTV Super Shore, filming in Italy for the first time in the show’s history.

The international co-production between MTV’s Latin America and Southern & Western Europe, Africa and Middle East business units will begin production of its third season this weekend in Rimini, as the cast members arrive from around the world to a swanky villa outside the Italian tourist hotspot.
 
Milan – 5 July, 2017 – MTV announced the return of MTV Super Shore, filming in Italy for the first time in the show’s history. The international co-production between MTV’s Latin America and Southern & Western Europe, Africa and Middle East business units will begin production of its third season this weekend in Rimini, as the cast members arrive from around the world to a swanky villa outside the Italian tourist hotspot. The show will air on MTV channels across 26 countries in Latin America including Mexico and Brazil, and across 6 European markets including Italy, France and Spain this autumn.

MTV Super Shore generated great results for MTV across Europe and Latin America. In Mexico, the premiere of first season was ranked #1 on all Pay channels in the country, in addition to driving the launch of the MTV Play app, pushing it to become the #1 free app in Mexico in the first 24 hours after launch and generating more than 3M streams in the first week. The show entertained more than 18M viewers on TV across Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Chile, and an additional 48.9M viewers on digital, with 90% of those views coming through the new MTV Play app. In Portugal, MTV partnered with Tinder to drive an award-winning marketing campaign for audience members to date the cast. The effort reached 300,000 unique users, driving 400k viewers to tune into the premiere and boosting channel performance +227% above average (0.95% vs. 0.29% share). And in Spain, the Season 2 premiere claimed the top spot on Spanish Pay TV for the target demographic (18-35) and was the most-watched program on MTV Spain since the brand’s return to Pay TV.
 
‘MTV Super Shore’ is the fifth international edition of MTV’s ‘Shores’ franchise, joining the phenomenally successful ‘Geordie Shore’ (UK), ‘Warsaw Shore’ (Poland), ‘GandÍa Shore’ (Spain) and ‘Acapulco Shore’ (Mexico), in addition to the original ‘Jersey Shore’. ‘MTV Super Shore Season 3’ will be produced by Spanish production company La Competencia.
